The standard DIN 52108 founds the basis for abrasion testing for anorganic non-metallic material. Based on that the wheel grinds the sample and through the volume reduction an evaluation of the abrasion can be determined.

The system controlls the acid resistance of concrete. For that purpose, samples will be kept in a test medium, mostly acetic acid or nitric acid, in a closed container for a certain interval of time. On the basis of the decomposition as well as the penetration of acid or the compressive strength of the concrete, the resistance can be determined.
